I seem to have run into a strange bug with an installation using both MadMapper and TouchDesigner. Although this PC has been working well for a couple years now, suddenly the PC will regularly crash (with a TouchDesigner error) when a specific UI is opened and a some buttons are pushed.
This error only happens when the paired MadMapper file is opened directly (either double click on the file or run it from the Windows Task Scheduluer in our case). If MadMapper is closed there are no issues. TouchDesigner can be run in anyway. The buttons in TouchDesigner do nothing (they originally had a function but removing this and new creating default buttons still causes the same issue). Communication between TouchDesigner and MadMapper is done exclusively through Spout (NDI will produce the same issue). There are no spikes in GPU,CPU, or RAM when this happens so it does not seem to be a resource issue. Both programs are set to run off of the GPU (an RTX3080) and have been elivated to high priority.
The TouchDesigner error message received is attached to the post. Honestly I have no idea what is casuing this problem. According to legend (an unverified staff claim) this same crash will happen when the system is left alone for over and hour but I have not had time to confirm this due to the venue's schedule. I am able to get around things by deleting the UI (as a precaution) and running both programs from their default launchers (in MadMappers case I open the startup blank project and then load the correct project). Any advice on how to debug this or ideas about what the problem is would be appreciated.
So far I have tried reinstalling slightly newer versions of both programs (not the latest due to license issues) and updated the NVidea drivers (so far I have not updated Windows due to the schedule).
